Emergency Management Ontario
Information about emergency management and community safety in Ontario. Features news and emergency alerts and includes a step-by-step toolkit on how to be prepared — including suggestions for people with disabilities and special needs, children, seniors, and pets. Basic “Be prepared” information is also in Arabic, Bengali, Farsi, Finnish, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Chinese, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Ukrainian, Urdu, and Vietnamese. Accessible on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Emergency Red Alerts can be received by email or SMS text messaging.

Employment Standards — Ontario Ministry of Labour
The Employment Standards Act sets out the minimum standards that employers and employees must follow to ensure fairness in the workplace. Includes a “Know your rights” video, which is available in English, French, Chinese, Portuguese, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, and Urdu. Information is also available on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

The Health & Safety at Work - Prevention Starts Here poster. Offers an overview of worker and employer health & safety rights and responsibilities. Poster is available in multiple languages for download and printing, including Chinese (Traditional), French, Russian, Somali, and Spanish.

Health Care Connect
Register in person or online with Health Care Connect, an Ontario government program that helps Ontario residents find a family doctor. Includes an introductory video on the service. Downloadable multilingual fact sheets on Health Care Connect are available in Amharic, Arabic, Cambodian, Chinese (Simplified and traditional), Farsi, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Ojicree, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Serbian, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Tagalog, Tamil, Ukrainian, Urdu and Vietnamese.

Healthy Smiles Ontario
Ontario dental program for children 17 and under who do not have access to any form of dental coverage to maintain the health of their teeth. Information on who is eligible, what services are covered, how to apply, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). Information sheets are also available in Amharic, Arabic, Chinese (simplified), Farsi, Italian, Oji-cree, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Urdu, and Vietnamese.

Illegal Deductions from Wages Video
An Ontario Ministry of Labour video explaining when employers can make deductions from wages and when such deductions are illegal. In Ontario, employers can make deductions only in very specific circumstances, but as a rule cannot make deductions from an employee’s wages. Available in Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, and Urdu.

Immigrant Services Kingston and Area (ISKA)
Information and video about programs and settlement services available to newcomers in the Kingston area. Includes help with immigration documentation, education, language programs, meeting people, finding housing and jobs and referrals to other community services an programs. ISKA’s services are available in Mandarin, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, French and English. Also available is a video detailing ISKA’s services, which is also available in other languages: Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish, Korean, and Farsi.

Immunization — Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care
Ontario government site with information on immunization and the various vaccination programs available for infants, children, and adults and a list of publically funded vaccines provided by the province. The information includes videos and a section on Myths and Facts about vaccines and immunization, which is also available as a downloadable PDF in multiple languages: English, French, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, German, Italian, Korean, Oji-Cree, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, and Urdu.

International Education (ALCDSB)
Information on the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board’s (ALCDSB’s) international education program. Includes a general overview; information on the community and program curriculum; and details on the admissions process, downloadable forms, and contact information. The overview is also available in Japanese, Portuguese, Korean, German, Mandarin, and Spanish.

A variety of references and tools on Ontario's investment opportunities — from fact sheets to maps, to downloadable brochures, videos and information on government programs. Learn English or French
Information on improving language skills before and after you arrive in Canada, where to study, and language training for school and work. Queen’s University School of English
Queen's University School of English (QSoE), founded in 1942, offers international students a variety of English language (ESL) programs, including intensive academic English, short-term and tailored programs. Students choose to study at QSoE for many different reasons such as university preparation, to learn English for work, or to experience Canadian culture. The rich socio-cultural program helps the students with cultural adaptation and allows them to practice English language skills outside of their classroom.

A translation and interpretation service based in Belleville, about 50 minutes by car west of Kingston.

Smith Falls Immigration Portal
A newcomer’s web portal with information about the Town of Smith Falls. Available in English only; alternate languages are provided through Google translate. Includes a selection of community videos and multilingual fact sheets available in Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Urdu.

St. Lawrence College, International Students
Information on programs and how international students may apply. Online viewable informational books are available in multiple languages: Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, German and Vietnamese. International informational sessions on college programs are held in cities around the world. The college also has Facebook and Renren pages.

A large resource of general legal information for Ontarians, compiled from hundreds of organizations across Ontario. While the site itself is only available in English, materials are available in multiple languages, including French. Managed by Community Legal Education Ontario.
