An online database of local career and employment resources in the Kingston region. There is also a useful list of partner organizations.

Alternative Jobs (Settlement.Org)
A directory of alternative or non-regulated jobs within regulated fields that require a licence. Includes information about job responsibilities, qualifications, labour market, skill and language training programs, and videos of newcomers talking about their experiences in non-regulated or alternative jobs.

Application to work in Canada — Work Permits
Government of Canada information about applying for a Work Permit to work temporarily in Canada. Includes a list of countries and territories whose citizens also need a Temporary Resident Visa and/or who need to provide biometric information. There is also a list and links to Canadian visa offices abroad.

Apprenticeship Training

Centralized Childcare Registry and Information Service (CCRIS)
The official online childcare registry and waitlist service for the City of Kingston and County of Frontenac. This website provides a directory of available childcare options searchable by availability, location, age group, and type of care (home, centre, school, etc.) and program (half-day, full-day, after school, etc.). Sign up to receive notification of available childcare spaces.

Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) — Job Opportunities
A listing of job opportunities available with the French-language Catholic school board. These are divided into searchable listings based on job category: executive and management; teachers; administration and support; educational support; and other professional positions. Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario — Careers
Employment opportunities with the school board. Downtown Kingston! — Business Directory
An online searchable directory of the over 750 businesses that offer goods and services in the core commercial area of downtown Kingston. Includes anything from shopping, dining and entertainment to accountants, dentists and engineering firms.

Downtown Kingston! — Events Calendar
A calendar of major festivals and celebrations as well as community events held in downtown Kingston. Includes anything from street performing, live music, and food tasting, to sailing and boat competitions, and fireworks. Home Base Housing
A non-profit organization that provides a range of supportive housing programs to assist people to live independently in Kingston. Programs include: Housing Help Centre, which provides information and assistance for housing searches including a list of available housing to individuals who are homeless or require affordable housing; Supportive Housing, which provides furnished, rent-geared-to-income housing for single adults, 16 years of age or older, who are in need of a home; In From the Cold, an emergency shelter open only from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.; and Lily’s Place, which is dedicated to assisting single women and families as they transition from homelessness to a home of their own. Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)
