Newcomers can get information about illnesses, injuries and other health conditions from a confidential Ontario government telephone service that connects callers with a registered nurse 24 hours a day, every day of the week.
The service is free and available to residents who do not have Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) coverage. Individuals with a family doctor can also use Telehealth. Information is provided in English and French, with interpretation support in other 110 other languages.
The Telehealth number is: 1-866-797-0000.
Individuals with speech or hearing difficulties can call a TTY (Teletype) number at Telehealth: 1-866-797-0007.
