Located on the shore of Lake Ontario, Kingston is close to three large cities, including Canada's capital of Ottawa (see National Capital Region), but enjoys the benefits of a smaller municipality. Many Kingston residents take advantage of the city's modest size by walking or biking to work. The city's size is one of many unique features that make it a special place to live, work and raise a family.

Kingston Immigration Partnership (KIP)
The KIP aims to bring people and organizations together to create a Kingston where newcomers can successfully build their new lives as full members of the community. A yearly survey (in English) of immigrants to Kingston is held every fall to encourage newcomers to share their experiences of settling in Kingston.

KIP “Call Kingston Home” Movies
A collection of 4 videos by the Kingston Immigration Partnership (KIP) highlighting the success stories of immigrants who have chosen to call Kingston home. These individuals—a real estate agent, a college student, a university professor, and an employment counselor—share what attracted them and their families to Kingston, why they stay, and why others should consider Kingston as their new home. The videos are in Arabic, Spanish and Chinese (Mandarin) with English subtitles.
